On September 25, 2025, within the framework of the 3rd Shenzhen International Maritime & Automotive Logistics Forum, Port of Hai Phong Joint Stock Company (Vietnam) and Shenzhen Port Group Co., Ltd. (China) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a Dedicated Partnership between the two key seaport systems in the region.
The signing ceremony was held in a solemn manner, attended and witnessed by representatives of Shenzhen city leaders and the management of Shenzhen Port Group. From the Port of Hai Phong, Mr. Pham Hong Minh – Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Chu Minh Hoang – Deputy General Director, were present. This marks the first time that the two leading seaports of Vietnam and China have officially established a bilateral cooperation framework, representing a significant step forward in strengthening regional connectivity.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties are committed to building a friendly and long-term cooperative relationship, promoting the exchange of experience in port operations, management, green port development, as well as the application of advanced technologies in logistics and supply chains. At the same time, Shenzhen Port and the Port of Hai Phong will jointly expand cooperation in container transportation, international transshipment, end-to-end logistics, tugboat services, and the operation of roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) cargo routes.
The signing of this cooperation not only carries economic significance but also holds strategic value. As two vital maritime gateways in Southeast Asia and East Asia, Shenzhen Port and the Port of Hai Phong both play a crucial role in global trade networks. This cooperation is expected to enhance the competitiveness of both ports, attract more major shipping lines, expand their international transshipment market share, and create new momentum for trade growth between Vietnam and China.
