Since China becomes Vietnam's leading trade partner with bilateral trade surpassing USD200 billions in 2024, Vietnam has been remaining Guangxi’s the largest trading partner title for 26 consecutive years. Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group is a major state-owned enterprise in Guangxi province with container throughput at their Beibu Gulf Port expected to exceed 10 million TEUs in 2025.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) is one of the key pillars of Vietnam’s maritime industry, managing a comprehensive system of seaports, shipping fleets, and logistics services nationwide.
In August 2024, two corporations signed a strategic cooperating agreement, committing to exploring and developing comprehensive collaboration based on the principles of "mutual advantages and win-win collaboration". This collaboration aims to enhance competitiveness and drive business growth for both parties. Basing on this foundation, VIMC and its partners, including Zhonggu Shipping Group’s logistics company, have worked diligently for over a year to successfully launch this service route. Tan Vu Port Terminal, recognized as the most modern port in the region and a core facility of VIMC, was selected as the first base for this new service.
