A DELEGATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF ANTWERP (KINGDOM OF BELGIUM) PAID A VISIT AND WORKED WITH THE PORT OF HAI PHONG

On October 8, 2025, at the Headquarters of the Port of Hai Phong, the Port of Hai Phong had the honor to welcome a delegation from the University of Antwerp (Kingdom of Belgium), led by Professor Dr. Christa Sys from the Faculty of Maritime Economics, who visited and worked with the Port.

Accompanying the delegation were Mrs. Eve Devoldere – Counselor for Trade and Investment, and Mr. Tijl Dental – International Cooperation Policy Expert of the Flanders Government, Kingdom of Belgium.

On the side of the Port of Hai Phong, Mr. Nguyễn Tường Anh – General Director, together with representatives from the functional departments, warmly welcomed and worked with the delegation.

During the working session, the two sides exchanged views on the cooperation process between the Port of Hai Phong and the APEC Port Training Center of the Flanders region in the field of maritime expert training and port operation management. At the same time, they discussed orientations for developing green and smart ports, as well as solutions to enhance sustainability in port operations, in line with global port industry trends.


In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited the operational sites of the Port of Hai Phong’s member terminals to learn about their infrastructure capacity, handling systems, and service procedures. The visit provided the delegation with a more comprehensive understanding of the capacity, scale, and development orientation of the Port of Hai Phong system.


At the end of the program, the two sides exchanged souvenirs and took photos to commemorate the milestone of cooperation, reflecting the close friendship and deep partnership between the Port of Hai Phong and its partners from the Kingdom of Belgium.

The visit and working session of the University of Antwerp delegation not only helped strengthen international cooperation but also opened up new opportunities for practical collaboration in training and developing high-quality human resources, thereby contributing to enhancing the competitiveness and sustainable development of the Port of Hai Phong amid the deepening international integration.
