Project of investment of 12 RTG cranes of the Port of Hai Phong Joint Stock Company

To deeply invest aiming at improving container handling and receiving capacity of Tan Vu Terminal, boosting advantages, competitive capability in accordance with the development plan of the Port., the Port of Hai Phong Joint Stock Company has received 12 more RTG cranes.
 

RTG crane is of self-propelled type with rubber tyred wheels moving on the surface of container yard. It is transmitted by the national electricity grid of 400V/50Hz - 10%, 3-phase. The crane moves to other working place and changes its track under idle condition. Max. lifting capacity under spreader is 40 tons. The crane hauls a container over a distance of 6 rows of ISO-standard containers and one lane for truck (6+1). Lifting height of the crane is enough for 5 overlapped containers of 9’6” per each (5+1), simultaneously ensures the spreader movement above the 6th container. The crane was manufactured in accordance with modern technology, equipped with DGPS system for automatically driving and locating the position of container on yard.

On 23 October 2014, 12 cranes have been delivered to Tan Vu Terminal by self-propelled barges. These brand-new cranes were manufactured in 2014 with Model RTG40 by Noell Crane Systems Ltd with German technology. In the afternoon of 24/10/2014, all of the cranes have been taken to the container yard of Tan Vu Terminal and the Port of Hai Phong. Shall carry out all the necessary steps to put them into operation.
