To improve container handling and receiving capacity of Tan Vu Terminal suitably to the development planning of the Area of Dinh Vu Port, Hai Phong Port had invested 6 more RTG at total expense of about VND170 billion to serve the container handling at Tan Vu Terminal. From 07/06/2015, 06 were transported by seaway to Vietnam and gathered at Tan Vu Terminal. They are self-propelled cranes with rubber tyred wheels running on the surface of container yard, which are transmitted by the national grid of 400V/50Hz - 10%, 3-phase.
The crane moves to other working place and changes its track under idle condition. Max. lifting capacity under spreader is 40 tones. The crane hauls a container over a distance of 6 rows of ISO-standard containers and one lane for truck (6+1). Lifting height of the crane is enough for 5 overlapped containers of 9’6” height per each (5+1), simultaneously ensures the frame movement above the 6th container. The crane was manufactured in accordance with modern technology, having D.GPS system for automatically driving and determining position of container on yard. All these six cranes were manufactured in 2015 by Terex Noell.
Now, they are under calibration for all their systems. It is expected to put them into operation on July, 2015.
