Port of Hai Phong Welcomes Delegation from Ningbo Zhoushan Port (China): Strengthening Strategic Cooperation

On August 7, a delegation from the Ningbo Zhoushan Port, led by Mr. Teng Yahui – Director, Deputy General Manager, visited and worked with the Port of Hai Phong to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two major seaports in the Asia-Pacific region, while also exploring development potential in the Lach Huyen deep-water port area. Ningbo Zhoushan Port is one of the busiest ports in the world, consistently ranking among the top in terms of total cargo throughput.

On behalf of the Port of Hai Phong, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Anh – General Director – welcomed the delegation, together with representatives from specialized departments, the Customer Service Center, and VIMC Lines.

During the meeting, the Port of Hai Phong presented an overview of its infrastructure system, operational capacity, and development orientation; with a particular emphasis on the outstanding role and potential of HTIT Terminal located in the Lach Huyen area – the northern international gateway seaport, capable of accommodating large container vessels and providing direct connectivity to long-haul markets such as Europe and the Americas.

The representative of VIMC Lines also shared information about VIMC’s fleet capacity, current service network, and future development strategy; expressing a strong interest in expanding cooperation with international partners, including the Ningbo Zhoushan Port.

As part of the meeting, the two sides discussed potential cooperation opportunities in warehousing operations, logistics services, and the development of new maritime service routes.

Currently, Ningbo Ocean Shipping is operating a container shipping service at Dinh Vu Port Investment and Development Joint Stock Company – a subsidiary of the Port of Hai Phong. The expansion of cooperation to the Lach Huyen area is expected to create new momentum for cargo throughput growth, contributing to enhancing the competitive position of both ports on the global maritime transport map.

Following the meeting at the Company’s headquarters, the delegation visited Tan Vu Terminal and HaiPhong Port TIL International Terminal (HTIT) in the Lach Huyen area.

The visit by the Ningbo Zhoushan Port delegation to the Port of Hai Phong not only reaffirmed the strong friendship and close cooperation between the two sides, but also opened up practical prospects for collaboration, contributing to the advancement of regional and global maritime supply chains.
