Hai Phong Port puts 02 gantry cranes with reach of 14 container lines into operation to serve production and business

Tan Vu Port - Hai Phong Port is the largest container port in the North of Vietnam with a harbor bridge system of 980.6m long and a total storage area of about 50ha. The type of RTG gantry crane used in the storage yard is 24-block type including 02 specialized blocks for frozen container goods; The type of Reach stacker forklift truck used in the storage yard is 26-block type, the maximum stock of the storage yard at one time is 25,000 teus.
In order to enhance the capacity of container loading, unloading and reception to increase the competitiveness in exploitation field in the North and meet customer requirements, during the past period, Hai Phong Port has completed the investment in 02 QC gantry cranes for loading and unloading at bridge No.01 Tan Vu Port. The cranes are manufactured in Federal Republic of Germany in 2017. They are harbor bridge gantry cranes (QC) specialized in container loading and unloading. The lift capacity is 40/50 tons. The lift height calculated from the top to the bottom of the crane frame is 30 meters. The depth of drawer under rail is 12 meters. The river reach is 40 meters and the rear reach is 16 meters. The cranes for operation of vessels is 14 container lines in width and can stack up to 6 containers on the deck.

For the purpose of preserving the production site, 02 gantry cranes were fully installed in the rear yard 300m far from the wharf before being transported to the wharf.

Each QC crane with weight of 600 tons, length of 95 meters, width of 27 meters and height of 56/89 meters, was transported to the wharf by the manufacturer using special equipment to ensure absolute safety on 11/8/2017. The cranes are ready for loading and unloading containers to improve the productivity and service quality at Tan Vu Port.
