On the morning of 21 November 2025, Hai Phong Port Tugboat & Transport Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with the Song Thu – Vitechco contractor consortium, successfully held the Launching Ceremony of the Azimuth tugboat TUGTRANCO 01 with a power capacity of 5,000 HP.
This milestone project is a meaningful tribute to the 96th Anniversary of the Traditional Day “Solidarity – Resilience – Creativity” of the Hai Phong Port Party Committee and workforce (24/11/1929 – 24/11/2025), as well as the anniversary of the establishment of the first Party cell (28/11/1929 – 28/11/2025).
Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Nguyễn Văn Dũng – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Hoàng Đình Quang – Board Member and Director of Hai Phong Port Towage & Transport JSC; Colonel Đinh Trường Sơn – General Director of Song Thu Corporation; Mr. Trần Trọng Tuấn – Director of Vitechco; along with representatives from the supervision consultant, project management consultant, and the classification registry.
The construction of the Azimuth tugboat TUGTRANCO 01 is a key investment project for the Company, featuring high technical requirements and significant capital value. The vessel will enhance the Company’s competitiveness and meet the growing operational demands of the market, particularly in the Lach Huyen deep-water port area.
The launching marks an important milestone as the vessel enters its final completion phase before handover, expected in early December 2025.
TUGTRANCO 01 is built to international standards and equipped with Azimuth thrusters (Schottel), enabling exceptional maneuverability with full 360-degree rotation—ideal for operations in deep-water ports and complex maritime conditions.
The investment in this 5,000 HP Azimuth tugboat is part of Hai Phong Port Tugboat & Transport JSC’s and Hai Phong Port’s broader strategy to develop a modern and professional fleet.
The Company currently operates 11 tugboats with a total power capacity of more than 17,000 HP, with the largest existing vessel at 4,600 HP. The addition of TUGTRANCO 01 will not only strengthen fleet capacity but also mark a significant step forward in enhancing the quality of towage and maritime services.
